In 2026 that means 1976 Topps Football – the year of Walter Payton's rookie card and the season the NFL grew to 28 teams with the arrival of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks. 2026 Topps Heritage Football puts that unmistakable look on the biggest names and rookies of today's game: a new base set in 1976 style, returning Heritage favourites and two brand-new inserts that dig even deeper into the story of that season. Heritage football cards are built on exactly this meeting of past and present – classic design, current checklist.
